The Story

Born of Good Friendship

The Friendship Stone came into being over coffee with a good friend,
as we talked about our kids and their growing pains.
My friend wished she could be there for her son in his times of doubt.

On a recent trip to South Africa, I discovered beautiful Tiger’s Eye
stones and added several to my collection. I suggested she give him one,
which he could carry with him as a reminder of her presence,
her love and his own beauty as he faced his daily challenges.

The Magic of Perspective

Tiger’s Eye has dazzling hues of gold, blue and brown which shift depending on how it is held in the light. Its remarkable beauty and ability to change became a metaphor about how we choose to look at life, and what happens to us.

My friend loved the idea and gave each of her children a stone. In the following weeks, a remarkable process took place…the stone affected her children in a powerful way.

They not only realized their power to change their attitude, but they also gained confidence by reflecting on their own beauty.

The Gift of Being There

We both began giving the Tiger’s Eye stones to other friends, and the circle of people whose lives were profoundly touched by its messages expanded. I received emails and phone calls filled with appreciation. This is the origin of “stone stories”. I woke up in the middle of the night with the idea to name it The Friendship Stone, and to share it with as many people as possible, allowing them to enjoy the enrichment of this experience.
